What’s the climate out there for negotiating rates? Will buyers agents not show homes if I’m using a flat fee realtor ? Are buyers paying their agent or is it still the sellers ?

Want to try to save money in agent fees if possible but willing to pay if they actually provide increased value or will get me a higher price, but with zillow and such I am skeptical.

I’m also getting back into the market to try to buy and wanted to find this out too

    2. Buyers agents dont care what you are paying your sellers agent.

Setting the buyers agent commission in advance is unwise. You need to look at each offer independently.

      Which offer would you prefer:

      A) $200k and no buyers commission
      B) $210k and 3% buyers commission

We negotiated with an agent as we dont feel 3% is standard or reasonable anymore. We’re only offering 2% to each, if an agent doesn’t bring someone to my home because they’ll make less, that’s their own problem. As a buyer, I wouldn’t tolerate that however.

Agent told me standard for our area is 2.5%, but she’d do it for 2.25% and her hope was to find a buyer herself, and she would do 4% instead.
