Location: CA
I got a mail from USAA subrogation department to provide my insurance policy since they paid insurer and I need to pay back.
However the location they claim the accident happened is 200 miles away from me and I never visited. I was with my family on the date as well. I sold a car to dealership in August and the accident date is November
Is it possible that USAA is reaching out to a wrong person? How can I resolve this?
Got a mail from USAA Subrogation team but I was not in any accident

Yes. Provide them with a copy of proof of sale showing you were no longer the owner on the date of the accident.
This is a classic timing problem between a sale and updated records. Subrogation departments chase whoever shows as owner on paper at first pass.
Respond promptly, provide the bill of sale or dealer paperwork, and clearly state you did not own or possess the vehicle on the date of loss. That usually ends it.
