Diminished Value Claim

Is filing a diminished value claim worth the hassle? A few months ago, I was in an accident that wasn’t my fault. My car had around $14,000 in damages. The insurance company explained that the only reason it wasn’t totaled was because the airbags didn’t deploy. I own a 2022 Kia Forte GT line, and at the time of the accident, it had around 16,500 miles on it. Since I work from home and don’t drive often, my car was in almost new condition. The at-fault driver has Geico, and they have claimed liability. Dealing with the insurance company at the time of the accident and trying to get my car fixed was a nightmare in itself, so I am on the fence about filing the diminished value claim.
