Yup. Clogged er right before i left for work and did not notice. 13 hours later i have water damage from the 2nd floor to the basement Ive read this is something that insurance usually covers. However, im slightly paranoid about state farm not covering me because the toilet always runs. As in, theres a constant stream of water going into the toilet bowl. Am I screwed? Hindsight is 20/20. I know it's should have gotten the toilet fixed or replaced but I just bought this house(my first home) a few months ago and ive been focused on more pressing issues
Edit for clarity. I flushed too much toilet paper. Toilet and sewage work just fine.

I learned the hard way that insurance companies won’t cover toilet leaks. It falls under maintenance or lack of.
Don’t file a claim as it will be held against you and they won’t pay anyway.
Get a plumber and have it repaired professionally. They toilet should not be running all the time.
You need to go over your home owners insurance policy to see if it is covered. Typically, it is not covered.
Depends, this would not be covered under standard perils, however many home owners policies offer protection against internal leaks/water damage from other causes. Need to review your policy and dig into the fine print.
