In theory it’s great, but the number of ways around this are infinite. Put your cash in a trust and the trust buys and sells. It’s all just nonsensical theatre to try to at least limit the amount of people wanting to riot in this country.
This might be the biggest waste of time on the planet. Want to fix Congress and the country? 2 term limit for both. Want to serve in the House… you get 4 years then back into reality you go. Want to serve in the Senate, we’ll give you 12. I’ll say within the 4 or 12, trade stocks I genuinely don’t care about that.
But for fuck’s sake can we please stop having people with one foot in the grave making decisions that impact the future of this nation? Is it ageist? Sure. After 70, it’s time for you to take an old man walk, go to a coffee shop for breakfast, read the paper, and take a nap at 2:00.
