That is actually not so bad. He might start to realize that the military option is dangerous and could cost him more than any benefit he could gain from it. Now he is trying something else. Keep saying no, and he will move on to Cuba or somewhere else.

Meanwhile surviving economists are trying to convince themselves their old models reflected reality. Half a dozen of them were correct.
Most Republican congresspeople are concerned with their own political survival, with the exception of the politicians not seeking reelection. So unfortunately, if the polls show that they are not at risk in their states and districts, they will do precisely nothing. But a massive swing in voter sentiment could cause a pre-election vote to impeach that could work in favor of Congressional democrats. The more long term problem is a President who calls the impeachment a fraud or a scam and refuses to accept impeachment. Then you’d have to enforce the departure by force, which has zero precedent in American history. You’d essentially be relying on the US military to physically remove the administration who all show moral decay and ambivalence to the US constitution. It would take a march of millions on Washington to mean serious business which may or may not have to happen during a declaration of martial law. It would have to be what happens in Seoul, South Korea last year multipled by about a thousand.
I genuinely want Greenland to agree to join the US voluntarily if and only if Trump and all republicans in congress resign. Test these idiots. If they genuinely believe that Greenland is so necessary for America, and if they are genuine patriots who only want what’s good for America, then *surely* their own personal loss of power would be immaterial compared to helping America.
Of course, it was never and will never be about America’s interest.
