Someone admits they sold early and the replies are basically “skill issue” dressed up as wisdom.

The “wrong mindset” or “you sold too early” narrative is way too black & white (hold forever, don’t time the market, BTC is the escape hatch).

If the car dies, your house floods, you lose your job, health goes south, or a pet needs treatment, BTC becomes a lifeline. Using it when life hits isn’t failure!

To those who sold: you had your reasons. Don’t beat yourself up for surviving your own reality.

And to those who can hold forever: that’s great, genuinely. Just remember that your position is a privilege, not a baseline.

Let’s stop kicking people who already had to make hard choices and start showing a bit more respect for different life situations.

Reminder: There’s a person behind that post

    1. Don’t be silly, this is reddit. If you don’t agree with the hivemind your a terrible human and should be name called.

But seriously, it’s your money, spend it and do as you need.

This is such an important reminder. Real life doesn’t pause for “perfect market timing.” Selling to deal with emergencies isn’t failure, it’s using an asset for what it’s meant to do: help you survive. Empathy is seriously lacking in a lot of these replies.

    3. I’m the person who replied with “wrong mindset” to the guy who said he feels foolish for selling too early.

      I am correct.

If he understood bitcoin, he would not have that mindset, and he would not have sold when he did.

I’m not saying to never use bitcoin to help your life, I’m saying to not go, “okay, once we reach a certain value, that’s time to turn all my bitcoin into fiat”.

      THAT is the wrong mindset.

If you need some liquidity in your life, use your bitcoin to cover you, but keep the rest in bitcoin.

      That is the right mindset.

These types of posts are pretty exhausting. People complaining they sold too early or they didn’t get in early enough. Yeah hindsight is a beautiful thing, it’s like buying a lotto ticket and complaining you didn’t pick the numbers that came up.

If you NEEDED the money for… life, well go ahead sell whatever you need to there’s no shame in that at all. That’s what money is for.

The wrong mindset comments were made to those sold Bitcoin trying to buy back lower later or switch to whatever fiat investment game because “I had this great run doubled my money”. Well in those cases they deserve the chiding because they never understood what they had in the first place.

    6. Is there though?

I appreciate the sentiment of the post but much of this sub is AI generated trash, price slop karma farming and bots.

You are mistaken. People don’t bashed for using Bitcoin for good purposes. People get bashed when they panic sell because of fear.
