But the trump family will benefit from their investments in China.

I’m not sure china has hegemony in the battery space. In the renewable production space yes, but battery technology is more variegated, especially in SE Asia. Check out solid state batteries for example.
Remember that batteries on their own can’t do much of anything, because they’re a load and don’t produce any electricity at all (and they even lose quite a few of them)
Battery storage is going to be an increasingly significant part of global energy systems, without a doubt, but they’re no silver bullet…

Not just that… DARPA developed critical tech for car/grid batteries and under Trumps first term he sold it to China instead of licensing it. We gave up our national interest for a quick buck. Look more China propaganda on the r/energy sub. What will china do next that is better than the rest of the world?

No they won’t. China’s energy comes 62% from coal (2024). Yes you read it right. Coal. The batteries are a mean to store and transport electricity.

Then why do they keep building coal powered energy plants?

batteries will eventually run the world together with renewables, only die hard oil and coal fans still believe in that. But funny how chinese and US campaigns trying to desmiss Europe. and yet, it was Europe who just took the technological lead in batteries with the presentation of the rist production solid state in early jan.
