Ramen profitability: Enough profits to pay the founders' living expenses

My co-founder (30F) and I (26M) quit our jobs to start a CPG company 3 months ago, we're about to receive our first production run to go to market. We're bootstrapping and both of us have allocated our entire life savings to this business. We have 10 months of runway left if we don't make a single cent from the business.

Receiving the inventory is both exciting and scary as now it feels real. Like really really real, this is our life. This is it.

From your experience, how long did it take for you to reach "ramen profitability", starting from the day you quit your full time job?

how long did your bootstrapped business take to reach "Ramen Profitability"?

    1. It depends on what you are building and who your customer is.

I been doing my start up full time with my life savings for 4 years without any salary.

We were profitable and bootstrapping since day 1. although we just payed us about 800€ a month for the first 2 years

    3. This is honestly the first time I’ve heard the term “Ramen profitablity” and I love it. Learned something new today. Curious where the term actually comes form!
