Hi, sorry for the weird question but I am paranoid. No payment is due (till 2028 allegedly, but I know that's just a placeholder). But I want to pay down my interest.

Will making a payment somehow trigger payments due again? Or can I just pay interest at will without them starting monthly billing again while I am on SAVE forbearance? Is anyone else making payments on SAVE?

I am in SAVE forbearance and have not made a payment since June 2024. Will making a payment on the interest trigger payments again?

    1. No, you can make payments at will. Billing will not trigger. I’ve been doing that for multiple months and even paid one loan off.
