For drill this weekend my husband is having to go over 2 hours to drive to a location for a live burn training exercise. this is obviously something his command is just last minute deciding to do. they have told him and the others included that they will not be receiving reimbursement for the extra mileage they are having to travel and are not being offered lodging. I was just wondering if there was any regulations against this. This seems very off to me, usually these things are planned in advance and there is usually transportation already planned for such as a bus or vans.
Is it possible for command to deny lodging and travel pay

You’d have to look in the JTR for the regulation regarding travel pay.
We’re going to need some more details here, and likely direct from your husband.
Is this on a UTA status? When was the notification? Has there been an alternate duty location determined? Is he a normal commuter, and has lodging already on base? One or two people, or the whole unit?
This is likely entirely legal, and they can deduct extra mileage on taxes. It depends on many factors.
