I'm looking at buying a house for the first time. All the houses in my price range need doing up (new electrics or brick work need doing etc) at what put should i just walk away from a house? what I'm tring to ask is, what problems with a house would make you not want to buy it even if the house would otherwhise be perfect?

Where to draw the line on repairs when looking for a house

      – Cracked foundation
      – Clear water damage
      – Needs a new roof
      – mold remediation needed in living areas

These were my personal “absolutely not”.

It depends on the price and how much ready cash you have. If you pay $200,000 for a house, that after $100,000 in repairs would be worth $400,000, then it’s a great deal.
