My Venture X is visa infinite card. Planning to rent a car in Jeju island, Korea. Rental place- CDW is prettty reasonable- but has deductible and loss of use that is not covered. Just spoke with Visa CS.. they told me I have to decline CDW coverage for this insurance to be active . This rental place uses AI to check for any dings . And If they do hit me with damages- can I just give them, my CC insurance information?? Or do I need to pay right there and try to get reimbursed??
The CS told me, I don’t have to pay upfront and CC takes care of everything- but rental place has my CC information and they can use that to just charge for damages…any advise would be appreciated. I would rather just purchase the rental CDW, but they only cover around $5kusd limit..and it doesn’t cover loss of use… so not sure…
