Good afternoon and thanks for reading.

My wife and I were hit head on when we were stopped at a red light. Wife is okay for now with no current injuries, and baby was checked out and was still healthy with no complications. She is due in May. We are receiving payout for the car from the at-fault insurance (Progressive, same carrier as myself).

Now my concern is that we received a Full Release Of All Injury Claims with Indemnity form to sign, which as I’m reading will release the other party (at fault driver and policy holder) from any other issues that may arise in the future. They are offering a (imo measly) payout of $750 for this.

I do not believe this is worth the potential complications in the future and would rather keep this open until after the baby is born healthy. We do not need this $750 right now.

Can I get your thoughts on this and recommendations for moving forward? Any advise is appreciated. Thanks again for reading.

Are you hurt? Is there any sign the baby was hurt? What complications do you feel could happen that would be related to the loss

First of all, why do you believe you are owed more than $750? Were there any injuries or expenses related to the injuries at all?

If there are no complications and you guys are not injured, it might be worth taking. However, if the $750 is not needed right now, it may be worth keeping the claim open until baby is born just to be on the safe side.
