I’m (37) an artist turned entrepreneur coming off a CEO chapter and trying to be intentional about what comes next.
What I’m deeply passionate about is healing-centered creative work, marketing, and building spaces (online or in-person). I’m an art nerd with a knack for marketing and sales.
Right now I’m trying to decide between:
-
Going back to grad school (possibly an MBA or something adjacent) to formalize skills and open new doors
-
Refocusing and rebuilding independently, using my existing experience but in a more aligned, sustainable way
Im really scared of burnout. But also miss my work.
For those who’ve been through something similar:
Did grad school (especially an MBA) help after entrepreneurship, or did it just delay clarity?
If you chose not to go back, what did “refocus” actually look like in practice?
Recovering burnt-out entrepreneur, should I get my MBA or just or refocus?

Just refocus. Nothing is more important than you in the end of the day. Mba won’t run out of it’s place.
