Current cards:

Chase Freedom (Opened long long time ago)

Capital One Venture X (Opened: 10/2022)

Amazon store card (Opened long time ago)

    Capital one Savor (Opened: 9/2025)

Amex Platinum Morgan Stanley (Opened: 01/2026. Fee is covered through engagement Bonus)

    Chase Sapphire Preferred (Wife's card)

    I believe our top sending categories are Grocery(~20%), Dining(~15%), Travel(~15%) , Amazon/shopping(~20%) & others(~30%) with yearly spend around 90k.

We have two mortgages(5.5k/month & 4k/month) as well.

So I am considering closing Cap1 VentureX & open BILT Palladium to get base 2x for others category and whatever extra points I can get for Mortgage.

Downside: I have used VX for tax payments occasionally & I believe BILT is not offering points on tax payment. Also I feel BILT's travel credit is too restrictive and I dont know I will be able to use it every time compared to simple setup with VX.

I am also considering getting AMEX Gold under wife's name to cover 4x multiplier for Grocery & Dining.

Overall motivation is to get points bank with Chase & AMEX instead of Capital One. And I believe BILT also has overall good partners so I can make use of BILT points as well.

What are the thoughts on replacing VX with Palladium & AMEX gold in above setup?

looking for a feedback on the current setup

this looks pretty solid honestly but i’d think twice about dropping the ventx just yet

the bilt mortgage thing sounds great on paper but you’re giving up a lot of flexibility. ventx travel credit is way easier to use and those tax payment options you mentioned are actually pretty valuable. bilt’s travel credit has so many hoops to jump through

for your spend pattern the amex gold makes total sense though, that 4x on dining and grocery would crush it with your volume. maybe keep the ventx for now and add the gold first, see how that feels? you could always reassess the bilt thing later

also not sure if you meant to write 2025/2026 for those card dates but assuming those are typos lol
