ICR counts/Gift of College help

Hello, I have loans from 1999 that were in SAVE. Because I had 14 payments left, given the law changes, I converted to ICR. Even with the higher payment, it would give me forgiveness before everything changes in 2028. My first payment was January. I had some gift of college and it went to Nelnet. I was told it would go towards my payment. But it did not. it decreased my interest/principal and they debited my entire payment from my bank account. I called them and they said it should have decreased my payment. Said they would fix it. They did not. I called back and they put in another ticket. Also did not work. I called again and they said that they were pushing my loan payment back into March. I wanted to know if I will now get forgiveness credit for January and February. I am getting no answers and don't know who to ask. I tried called US student aid number but they said they don't do that. Dept of education or servicer does that. But had no contact info and obviously my servicer is not helpful. I'm afraid to have more GOC applied for fear it is just wasting money and I'm not getting credit. Does anyone know for sure?
