Laundry tip to my younger self:
Wash laundry on "delicate" cycle = Half the run time, less strain on your washer! It cleans our gently used daily clothes just as efficiently and not as aggressive on the fabrics. Also, I use only COLD water (energy costs) & only 1 Tablespoon of Tide. Detergents are so ultra concentrated these days that you don't need a 1/2 cup like the lid suggests.
ALSO- instead of purchasing a separate stain treatment product just use a teeny speck of Dawn dish soap and let it set for 10 minutes.
That said, obviously, if we have stained or soiled laundry it is washed accordingly. But overall this saves so much TIME between loads, money on detergent, and half the wear and tear on your washer. Also if you have the space try a drying rack to save even more energy and friction on your fabrics.

idk about the quantity of detergent , but I tend to agree that one can use less (not sure about that much less) .
I have several different cycles on mine (some are really short : 15/30 min . cold water saves u energy bill and the clothes . stopping mid cycle for the clothes to soak is also an option if they are really stained.
