is this cause for concern? if i zelle to an llc, instead of a "person" (i'm guessing they're the same type of account), does that change anything?
my landlord now wants me to zelle my rent to their llc, instead of their personal account

It’s not cause for concern and it doesn’t change anything. If you received this request via text or email make sure to reach out and talk to them in person to ensure it’s not a scam.
it needs to be listed on the lease for best practice, but not realy
I have no expertise but I think of changes as usually coming because of something else:
– I imagine there could be differences in taxes (likely better for you) if they were not claiming the money
– there could be processing fees, assuming they moved to a property manager that does things with a 3rd party
– liability may not be applicable to the landlord (as a person) in case of an injury
As a general fact though it is likely out of your control and unlikely to have a significant impact.
My one note of caution is that you make sure the message is from your landlord. Is it possible to have him/her sign something in person that documents the change, or even just telling you in person? I imagine thay sometimes con artists notify renters that a change occured and the renter needs to change the recipient of the rent check.
There needs to be an addendum to the lease signed by both parties.
I’d check your lease agreement for “ where to send payments “ and ask for addendum with updated address. Never trust a landlord.
it means your landlord is actually paying their taxes and also protecting their personal assets. Nothing for you to worry about.👌🏻👍🏻
Ask to get your lease updated and make sure you get rent receipts
Have them send you a certified letter with this change as an amendment to the lease.
