Some Walmarts have thick plastic bags at the checkout. They are grey and will say something like reusable 125 times.

They are the best things ever and free. They are very durable. The handles are super thick so it doesn't cut into my hangs. They fold up nicely too. I'll fold several, toss it in my pocket before I walk into a store. They are insanely durable.

They have Walmart on them but it's not that obvious. Next time you are near Walmart, see if they have some and let us know what you think!

    1. I miss this.

My city banned disposable plastic bags at grocery stores for bagging….

But did not ban plastic takeaway containers, did not ban plastic bags for produce, did not ban plastic garbage bag rolls….

Now we have a “reusable cloth bag” gluttony problem… and still a ton of plastic.

So they are not free. You are providing advertising services to billionaires in exchange for a bag, and now you are providing more advertising services online to those billionaires.

    3. I miss those. The only store I know of that carry that style locally still is Winco.

Our location has terrible thin brown paper bags with no handles that they charge 5 or 10 cents each for.

FYI, this varies wildly by location. Some places still use the shitty plastic bags. Some don’t offer them at all. Some that do carry this absolutely charge you for them. I still have some thick plastic bags like you’re describing from different grocery stores in California. I leave them in my suitcase because they’re so small.

I use regular reusables for everything else.

Cries in california… every place charges for bags now and half of the stores you can only get paper and it rips instantly
