What can we do in the summer to cool our bodies, not the room? There probably is no real equivalent, but how close can we get? I will list a few obvious ones to get them out of the way.

    • Fan
    • Cold/frozen beverage
    • Strip down

Looking for more creative and innovative solutions. Just try to imaging you're in 76' house, in bed or on the couch, or up and moving. What do you have?

Heating pads and electric blankets are OP for staying warm in the winter.

    1. Wet rag. Lightly swipe over your skin and then sit in front of the fan.

      Ice packs

Natural fiber, loose clothing. Linen and cotton. Cooler than having your skin exposed to the sun

    2. Water. Air is a much better insulator than water, and water extracts a lot of heat when it evaporates.

You can put your feet in a basin of cool water. Keep a towel in the side so you can take your feet out and rest them on the towel as needed. You can keep a bowl of ice handy to throw a couple cubes into the basin if the water gets too warm.

If you need to be moving around, wet a towel and drape it around your neck and point a fan at yourself. But even without a fan, wet clothes will evaporate and pull heat away.

Wash your hands and wet down your arms and neck. Wave your arms around and you will be surprised how fast you cool off.

Put a frozen wet cloth around your neck – it will cool you in a hurry.

    3. Doesn’t work in bed, but… Wear socks and waterproof sandals, then wet your feet and the socks will continue to cool you as they dry. Learned this when I accidently turned the hose on myself when watering the garden.

    4. I use a bean/barley-bag and throw it in my freezer. Wrap it around the back of my neck in the summer, and omg thats a nice feeling.

Also, at the very end of a shower in summer, start slowly moving the tap to cold, until you can barely stand it. Then get out. Lol, stay chill for awhile.

    5. I like the ice packs that have a strap, I place it up against the back of my neck because I’m prone to overheating which leads to headaches and vomiting. I keep multiple in my freezer. I also take a very quick cold shower, just a few seconds of “brrr!” helps me cool off enough to sleep. Bamboo fabric also feels so cool and nice, looking into a sheet set for this summer because my bamboo sleepwear(found at Aldi years ago, no idea where to buy now) feels amazing.
