Watched the 60 Minutes show parts of southern West Virginia where residents say it feels like a third world country was hard to watch.
WV ranks near the bottom in median income and labor force participation and near the top in poverty. It’s also one of the largest recipients of federal aid per capita.
These same counties overwhelmingly voted for Trump and long-term Republican leadership.
You can’t campaign against “big government” while your state economy depends on federal dollars. Choices have consequences.
