    1. NAL, but I think it would come down to whether his death is due to an act of war (not covered) or act of terrorism (often covered). Because this is between nation-states, it’d likely be considered an act of war, and not covered.

      So technically, since this was not through an official war, yes, it should respond. Had ear been declared, then it would surely be declined. Now this depends on contract language.

      However, being a high ranking official, there could be limits or exclusions in there normally not included.

      Example: if I’m writing an umbrella policy, one of the first questions are “are they a figure head”? If you answer no and you are, you just misrepresented. That’s a gray area though because what is considered a figure head? Do influencers count?

      Ultimately, typically, there are policies built for people like that rather than your general policy. Hypothetically, there could be a “no missiles” clause.

      Interesting question for sure!
