Delta rewards are at a point where to get or use any perks, you have to pay extra money. It doesn’t seem like a good deal if you have to pay extra to get miles and be eligible for upgrades if you already have status. Somehow people are thinking it is a good deal to spend more to get miles. Those miles then buy you a “free” flight, when in reality you probably paid for the flight by paying for miles along the way!
Can you even call it a rewards program if you are paying extra for it?
Delta Rewards are Not Worth It. Why are people paying for this?

“Frugal” and “Delta Airlines” don’t belong together in one sentence.
My wife got us round trip tickets from US > Denmark for $78. She continues to find insane prices like that regularly because she uses her card for everything and the miles just rack up. Plus the buddy passes and lounge perks.
I’m sure it doesn’t make sense for everyone but for anyone who does regular flight travel it’s absolutely viable.
A lot of people travel for work, they put the charges for the flights, hotels, and rental cars on their rewards credit cards, and then they get reimbursed by their company
So they get free rewards points/miles
