Hello everyone. Inflation and esprecially the cost of fresh produce has skyrocketed. How are yall shopping for it?I am finding even wholesale stores to be expensive these days. Seriously it should not cost so much to eat healthy. Is there an app out there that will help you based on the zipcode that you live to help narrow it down? Hello everyone. Man I wish there was an app! Flipp is the best I can find, shows you all the sales at most grocery stores but it’s not easy to filter by location. Sales for produce can help though and buying what’s in season. Also buying frozen or freezing vegetables that will be cooked one day
Aldi
Check weekly ads, coupons, find which store has what the cheapest. Also find stores with discount racks.
You can eat healthy without having everything fresh
Frozen produce and frozen fruits are healthy
You can get many canned vegetables with *no-salt added*
You can cook from scratch using dry produce
You buy your meat in bulk and not small packages
I usually find that local Asian and Latino grocery stores have good prices on fresh produce.
Apps like Too Good To Go usually include a lot of leftover restaurant food, but you might get lucky and find some sources of fresh produce.
And if any of the cheaper produce you find is a little limp, that doesn’t mean it’s bad. Stick it in a bowl of cold water for an hour or two and it will crisp right up.
Use the Flipp app to browse weekly sales by zipcode and the Flashfood app for up to 50% off fresh produce nearing its sell-by date.
