What is the outlook over the next week? Two weeks? There is no US naval presence in the strait currently. How long until tankers begin to flow again? Will the pipelines reopen? Only 1/2 are functional at this time.

Oil moves quick man, especially around market open. Glad you caught that spike and closed profitable. Those early morning trades can be sketchy though – volume’s thin and you get wild wicks that’ll liquidate you in seconds if you’re not careful with your leverage.
I learned that lesson the hard way back in 2017. Now I stick to assets with deeper liquidity when I’m trading perps in those early windows. The spreads are brutal otherwise.
