In 1942 Enrico Fermi built the first nuclear reactor under a football stadium in Chicago. The whole idea was simple. Split one atom. It splits two more. Those split four more. Chain reaction.

The only thing stopping it from melting the entire city? Control rods. You slide them in, reaction slows down. Pull them out, it speeds up.

Chernobyl happened when they pulled the rods out too far and couldn’t put them back in time.

    That’s r/Slurm_Coding.

You start with one small idea. I’ll just ask Claude to scaffold this. It works. That sparks another idea. That works too. Now you’re two features deep. Four features. Eight.

    Chain reaction.

The problem? There’s no control rods. Nothing to slow it down. The code keeps working. The ideas keep coming. Every feature splits into two more.

Before Chernobyl the engineers thought they had it under control. Before 4am you thought you were just trying something quick.

Slurm coding is just a nuclear reactor with no control rods
