    U.S. gas prices still rising despite stabilized crude oil prices

    The war with Iran continues to impact energy prices globally with Americans seeing another rise on prices at the pump. Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for Gas Buddy, joins CBS News to discuss.

      Crude went UP THIRTY-THREE PERCENT at the Current Price.
      Take what WAS the Price in your area and Multiply by 1.33 to get the eventual price.

      I still waiting for OPEC and 0il Companies to take responsibility for these GAS prices raising it's not the war with Iran its a Bunch of opportunistic price gouging

      At the pump, prices rise on rumor, fear, and pure opportunism long before higher costs ever reach the guy selling the gas. It’s less supply and demand than greed with a hair trigger.

      Current example:

      Roughly only 2%–3% of the oil moving through the Strait of Hormuz is going to the United States, based on EIA’s figures of about 0.5 million barrels/day imported by the U.S. through Hormuz in 2024 versus about 20 million barrels/day of total oil flow through the strait. That same EIA report says 84% of Hormuz crude and condensate went to Asia, so America is a pretty small direct customer.

      For oil coming FROM America and flowing through Hormuz, the answer is basically ~0% , because U.S. exports do not need to transit that chokepoint to leave North America.

      The punchline: Hormuz matters to U.S. gas prices a lot more than it matters to U.S. physical oil supply. The market panics first, greedy station owners take advantage and then everybody suddenly becomes a “regional instability expert.”

      coincidentally Baron Trump bought millions in oil stock before the invasion, now all of a sudden a war breaks out and oil skyrockets… hmm.. insider trading i thinks.. but we all know theres no punishment in USa for illegal stuff if your el presidente or his buddies.. not to mention this is another ploy to push their EV agenda, make gas so unaffordable so people switch to the much less efficient EVs to gain more control over the people.. sick really..the gullible and simpletons will think its cheaper like they did at first saying EVs are free then all that went out the window then they can charge whatever they want, shut your car off when they want and control you more..its written on the wall..

      One things for sure, every time a Republican is elected president 1) a war in the middle east starts 2) our economy go's down the drain, complete with high gas & food prices !! And thats a fact ….

      It will take months maybe a few years get back to normal. Maybe Tel Aviv can send Aid to yankee land or subsidize oil for U.S citizens?.

      Valero and Phillips 66 are closing refineries of CA spec’s gas formula in April which will have to be imported. You guys shot yourself in the foot before any bomb dropped in Iran.
