⁠About to pay off my current credit card and looking to close out that account and get a better card. This was my 1st credit card aimed at students and wasn’t the best. I mostly use my credit card for gas and bills, other expenses I typically use my debit card.

      First things first – don’t close out your credit card. It’s no annual fee, so there is no reason to close it as it will lower your average age of credit and cause you’re score to go down.

      If you think you can meet the signup bonus, I would recommend the Citi Strata Premier. $95 annual fee, you get 3x on gas, 3x on groceries, and 3x on dining. 60,000 point signup bonus when you spend $4k in 3 months. May want to time around a big purchase or make a purchase for someone else and have them pay you back.
