Gas prices in UK and Europe soar after strikes on energy facilities in Qatar and Iran | BBC News

The price of gas has risen sharply in the UK and Europe following an attack on Qatar’s Ras Laffan energy complex.

Gas prices jumped by about 25% on wholesale markets in the UK and Europe in early trading, before easing slightly.

The price of gas in Europe is more than double the level seen before the US-Israeli war with Iran began.

Oil is also trading higher, with Brent crude jumping 10% to above $119 a barrel at one point, before slipping back.

    1. Trump does nothing to help Ukraine or help EU to help Ukraine, he just fleeces Europe for overpriced weapons at a %10 mark up.
If he wants help with Iran he can pay up I’d say 1 billion per day plus 10% for 1 EU or British ship in the waters near Iran.

    2. I think this is great. It will speed up our transmission to renewables and it may convince the stupiest american voter that TACO is an idiot.

    3. If you believe in so called international law, how do you make provoking countries like Russia and Iran conform? You can’t. Iran has stepped outside and the world’s policeman (the USA) is doing something about it after too many years of toleration, and in the face of increased risk of the combination of nuclear materiales and long range missiles from a thug set of religious nutters. Whether the BBC or Spain don’t like it is of little relevance.
