Investments failing is not inherently a bad thing. Investments are risk, we should take risks, sometimes they fail. We should be fine with investments failing.
What I have an issue with is 10 years worth of funding for the entire National Science Foundation being invested on this dumb fuck idea a regard came up with while high on shrooms while elite researchers beg for scraps from an 8bil/year fund that is being massively defunded even more.
Priorities completely fucked.

My theory is that Zuck just loosely envisioned what Roblox actually became.
Meta’s obsession with VR/AR headwear permanently sidetracked them from seeing that the “metaverse” is just people trapped in a gaming lobby that they never want to leave.
It’s both simpler and (much) smaller in scale than what Zuck dreamed it to be.
