They’ve grown a lot as a company since their previous failure in the space and should be able to leverage Alexa and Amazon LEO connectivity.
I know people meme about Alexa being garbage and Amazon LEO being slow to send their satellites into space, but they are both great offerings for a phone.
With their scale I think they’ll be able to offer a decent value oriented phone.

With the cost of living crisis and price spikes in nearly all key components of consumer electronics, I believe there could be a niche in the smartphone market for Amazon if they go the ultra value route.
We don’t live in the age of $50 smartphones like back in 2014 and even Chinese OEMs are getting pricier.

I bought a fire tablet a few months ago. All I use it for is internet browsing so I thought it would be fine to go with a cheap one.
My friends, NOTHING is compatible with a Fire device. I have a password manager app – not compatible. YouTube app? Not compatible. Fucking Google Chrome, the most ubiquitous browser in the world? Believe it or not, not compatible.
Okay so I’ll make due with their shitty Silk browser… But I’d really like to make some configuration changes. Can I do that? Well yes… But actually no.
