When is it appropriate to apply for a new credit card?

Hello, I am a student who has just started to use a credit card in hopes of gradually building my credit history. As of rn, I have been using the Monzo flex credit builder card for around 3 months but the limit is capped at £500.

I have come to the realisation that having a low credit limit isn’t great as its quite difficult to keep my utilisation low. I am scared to apply for a new credit card with a higher limit within such a short time as that can also be detrimental to my credit score.

How long should I wait before applying for a new card?
