Im planning on closing my Amex gold card and was reading through some threads about waiting for the fee to post and then closing it.
My opening date was March 2023, and my annual fee seems to post at the start of April every yr(so in about a weeks time). Ik I need to pay off my balance before I can close, so do I need to cancel the card before that annual fee posts to my account (cuz then I’d have to pay that as well to flatten my balance)
My current plan is to pay off my remaining balance and then close within the next wk so I don’t get charged but please let me know if I’m thinking about it wrong
