      Deng Xiaoping is generally credited as the leader who played a large role in the communist party of China beginning to allow the Chinese economy to open up through the 1980’s.

      This included both opening up to trade and giving their own people more freedom within their own lives.

      We will have to hope an expert comes along for any more than this wikipedia link below about Deng Xiaoping
