Recently I applied and got approved for the Kohl’s visa rewards card I’m rebuilding credit and seen my odds for approval on this card were outstanding so I went and head and applied. Unfortunately when the card came it wasn’t didn’t have the visa part and can only be used in Kohl’s to my disappointment capital one hasn’t been any help even though on their website it shows it’s a visa/Kohl’s card. What recourse do I have?

There’s a Rewards Visa and a Store Card and you were approved for the latter, most likely due to your rebuilding credit.
Your only option might be to cancel the card if you truly don’t want it. At least it doesn’t come with an annual fee, so if you shop at Kohl’s enough, using the card there and paying off the statement balance in full every month is one way to build good credit history.
Capital One loves to have products with very similar names with quite different terms.
Unfortunately, there’s likely nothing you can do. It’s stated clearly enough in the terms that if you’re not approved for the Visa they can still send you the store-only version.
When you called C1 did they tell you that you were approved for the store card? If that’s the case, there’s not much you can do.
The below text on the first page of the application:
>We will consider you for both the Kohl’s Rewards Visa and the Kohl’s Credit Card. If approved, you will receive one of these cards
Unfortunately, you do have to dig into the terms to discover what the implications of that are–which do NOT appear to be available anywhere on that page.
