Hello all!

I am not finically savvy at all—but I noticed that two of my retirement accounts are not invested in anything.

I know it’s typically advised to put money into index funds and things—and sorry this is a dumb question—but what ones and how much??

    Thanks

    1. Good options are Vanguard target date retirement funds or Fidelity Freedom Index funds. Other good options are FFNOX, VT and AOA.

I’d personally choose a target date retirement fund with no real preference between Fidelity and Vanguard but make if you do go with Fidelity to use the Freedom Index funds that have a lower expense ratio.

Your brokerage may not give you that much choice, but there should be at least some low cost index funds available.
