The other party insurance company reached out and stated: Our coverage is pending contact with our insured. I will provide another update once confirmed. What does this mean? This office is closed but it was sent at last minute.
Car1 was driving in the left lane and did lane change to the right lane and hit the other car on driver front by tire. Car one damage is to the passenger rear.
The right lane can be considered a parking lane but no markings. Who’s at fault? Opinions and advice please.

They’re making sure the driver was covered on their policy and wasn’t doing an excluded activity like, often, gig with. If you have collision coverage, this is your sign to use it and get your car repaired.
The insurance company has to talk to all parties in any collision for their side of the story. They cannot just go on your word.
Were you Car 1 or Car 2?
What do you mean the right lane can be considered a parking lane?
Was the second vehicle pulling out of a parking spot and car 1 hit them?
