What travel credit card should I get for a big resort booking and Japan flight later this year?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to open a new credit card soon and wanted some advice on the best option for travel rewards / sign-up bonus.

Current cards:

• Amazon Visa (this is my main card for most spending)
• PayPal Cashback Mastercard (I use this for anything else)

I don’t currently have a dedicated travel card, so this would be my first one.

I have two trips coming up:

• Booking an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana soon (flight + resort)
• Planning a trip to Japan around November

My plan was to open a travel card now, use the Punta Cana booking to help hit the minimum spend for the welcome bonus quickly, and then use those points toward my Japan flight.

Main things I’m looking for:

• High sign-up bonus (points/miles)
• Easy way to redeem for flights (especially international)
• No foreign transaction fees

I’m open to annual fees if the value makes sense.

From what I’ve seen, cards like Chase Sapphire Preferred, Venture X, or Amex cards seem popular, but I’m not sure what makes the most sense for my situation.
