NATO members spent 20% more on defense last year than in 2024, the Alliance’s Secretary General mark Rutte has announced. This as Donald Trump once again accused NATO of not helping with the U.S. military operation in Iran.
Leaders of the Joint Expeditionary Force, consisting of 10 northern European countries, gathered today in Helsinki to discuss the security of the region, with the war in Ukraine topping the summit’s agenda. Latvia, which is part of the JEF along with two other Baltic states, has debunked Ukrainian claims that Russia would be able to invade the region by 2027.
The U.S. is reportedly considering redirecting arms deliveries from Ukraine to the Middle East. The military aid was paid for by Europe through the PURL program and includes missile interceptors Ukraine desperately needs.
