Im a meta shareholder, and i have no clue what zuck is trying to do. Hes going crazy again with all this AI spending on chips, data centres etc.
I dont understand what the end goal is here, META is an Ad company and they are doing well. They are guiding 30 percent revenye growth for 2026 better then all mag7 excluding nvidia. Its one of the most profitable companies on planet
Is he trying to change the business and services it offers going forward
What is meta trying to become with all this AI spending

Well the metaverse is dead so he needs a new project
He ran out of other people’s ideas 20 years ago.
Basically throw everything at the wall and see what sticks
If you’re not growing, you’re dying. You have to try something even if it’s futile
They have abandoned the metaverse so now he needs something else to say he was a leader in.
As a shareholder as well, I think the play is to use AI to improve ad targeting and customization. Which is a valid use. The biggest problem any ad-seller has is that from 1000 showings, it only converts a fraction and that’s what it gets paid for. If somehow they could modify the ad dynamically to improve conversion rate or better gauge what’s the most profitable ad to show to a certain individual, that improvement goes straight to their bottom line. And it would be massive.
A personal data parasite and SPECTRE aspirations
Most of his ideas failed, some spectacularly. He also has too much say on how meta is being run. He’s the very reason why I’ll never buy into meta.
Control eyeballs = control wallet
No one knows. Hence -8% yesterday. Zuck is cucking himself
Well the person who actually creates human level intelligence AI will become the richest person in the world. That’s the end game.
Meta has made some amazing strides in terms of workflows using machine learning – specifically for use with biological research. I use 2 of their modeling tools myself regularly and have had great success with both – ESM for protein sequences and SAM3D for tissue image processing.
I know people LOVE to shit on Meta and Zuckerberg, but I as a user of these two AMAZING products out of Meta research, have great expectations from them in the coming years. Most of the time, when I see people making the stupid jokes about meta and Zuckerberg, etc and how NO ONE uses their products anymore, makes my eyes roll back into my head. Clearly these people have not used everything that Meta is doing and have perhaps just looked at other comments on Reddit that talks smack about Meta and then just parrots that.
I am buying Meta hand over fist at these prices
Edit: if people are interested, this is the paper showing how ESM was trained and what you can do with it. It’s truly, absolutely, unbelievably fascinating – Biological structure and function emerge from scaling unsupervised learning to 250 million protein sequences | PNAS https://share.google/fd3fFgehJ4gowFfJk
Are their core products (Insta, and Facebook) dying off? My engagement with them has dropped off completely since the AIpocalypse filled both with slop, but I don’t know if that’s indicative of the general’s population feelings.
money launder?
He’s trying to stay relevant. Facebook will become irrelevant eventually and Instagram will too at some point, just like the combustion motor and German automobile manufacturers got knocked of their throne because they didn’t lead in innovation and emerging technologies.
Meta is advertising company.
Advertising companies make money when they have unrestricted data tracking capabilities, which are provided at the whim of the hardware companies (Apple, Google).
Currently, Apple and Google often change or restrict what data Meta can track and use, or they allow their users to do so.
The Metaverse was a bet on meta becoming the next hardware company (headsets, glasses) that would invent and replace the current dominant hardware form factor (smartphones). They haven’t managed to do that yet, and may not, but they are working on it. You can’t create the future without spending a lot of money.
AI appears that it may also be that “next hardware platform”, maybe in the form of glasses, maybe a pin, etc. if so, Meta wants to try and be the dominant platform. A bonus is that Meta already has a lot of AI spending from its heavy use of AI to work around the restrictions that Apple and Google have previously placed on them.
That’s basically why.
But at some point the spending can overtake the potential return on investment. And it’s not yet known if we’re there yet. It’s unlikely we are there yet (think of the size of Apple iPhone sales for example).
Capital spending to reduce profit and resulting tax, and maybe the spending will result in something.
My understanding is they built a bunch of AI tools into the ads dashboard so you can now do a lot of stuff on the platform you used to have to pay 3rd party services for.
Since he cant buy his way out, going to spend his way out.
His golden goose is dying … it’s AOL in 7-10 years.
Same as metaverse.
Because despite all the investments, their AI is behind others, and they cannot just stop there. AI is another platform like mobile, they don’t want to lose because that means they will continue to be limited and have to play others rules. Overall I think they are in a tough position now.
Zuch suffers from BDS, billionaire derangement syndrome, where they were successful with one thing, and now they think they’re a genius on everything. Dude changed the name of the company after a failed venture of the most epic scale. All they are is an advertisement company, so they’re spending tens of billions just to try and make a few more billion. All he’s doing is showing what a complete idiot he actually is
He has soooo much money. People keep giving him more money. More money, more money, more money. Billions on billions. Do something with it people say. Invest in the future! Billions, bilions, billions. Can’t just fly around in planes all day and playing computer games..I guess I should invest in something… Everyone says AI is the future and I like to think I run a tech company…
