Yes, I'm aware that both cards have been frequently discussed individually on here. It's the synergy i wanted to point out.

WF Autograph: 3% on restaurants, travel, transit, gas, streaming, phone plan

AAA Daily Advantage: 5% on groceries, 3% on wholesale club, pharmacy, gas, streaming. $500 annual CB cap on groceries/wholesale/gas

the two cards together give 3% or better on a whopping NINE non-overlapping categories. No AF, no FTF, and a modest SUB on both cards. Cell Phone protection from the Autograph.

i feel like this is a really strong core duo for people starting to build a cashback setup. Those 9 categories cover most people's day-to-day needs fairly well. IMO it's stronger than a pure WF duo (Autograph + Active Cash), because groceries/wholesale clubs are such a common spend category for a lot of people.

from here on, an optional 3rd card can be added to suit people's individual spending needs. Still have lots of non-categorized spends after these 9 categories? Add a flat 2% catch-all card. Spend a lot on Amazon? Round it out with Amazon Prime Visa. Very high electricity bill? US Bank Cash+.

Obviously this isn't for the advanced users here gunning for 5% coverage on their spends, just saying for someone starting to build a cashback setup or prefer simplicity, this two-card setup is a great starting point with fairly complete coverage for many.

WF Autograph + AAA Daily Advantage is a really powerful cashback starter duo
