I’ve tried a few times now to get into IPOs through my broker and I never seem to get even a small allocation. It feels like unless you have a really big account or some kind of special relationship with the broker, you’re just not getting in.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a minimum account size or certain brokers that actually give regular people better access? Or is this just how IPOs work these days?
Just trying to figure it out.
Why do I never get any shares when I try to buy into an IPO through my broker?

Call your broker and ask what kind of account size you need to get cut into the offering
it’s basically a rigged game for retail lol. unless you have millions with the broker, you’re always last in line for ipo allocations. i stopped trying years ago and just buy pre-ipo exposure through things like vcx instead. it lets you own a piece before they even hit the exchange so you aren’t chasing the pump on day one.
IPOs are primarily for institutional investors and are usually limited availability. Retail buyers are literally last in line.
Usually you can get a nice discount if you wait 6 months anyway.
