Wife submitted pre-approval to CapitalOne today when we were looking to add a Savor to our setup. Was disappointed to see that they offered it to her on Discover instead of Mastercard.
Went to the Mastercard website and was able to apply for the Savor through that avenue knowing the pre-approval likely meant approval if submitted.
Sure enough, we submitted the application and it offered us the Savor as a Mastercard! Admittedly this is a sample size of n=1 but this could be a viable workaround to keep getting C1 cards on MC instead of Discover.
Will update here if it actually arrives as a MC! (if I remember)
