i was 24 and i thought i understood the market. to be fair i got some things right early. but "getting things right early" in crypto just means you got lucky in a bull market, and there's no way to know the difference in the moment.
when my portfolio hit $40k i thought about taking it out. i didn't. i told myself it was still early and i could grow it more. the next three months were not kind.
the part i think about most: when i was up, i could have paid off my student loans and had money left. i would have been materially in a better place than before i started. instead i chased the next level.
not going to pretend i've learned everything from this. i still trade. but i take some off the table now. the version of me who didn't do that was playing a game he didn't understand with a timeline he couldn't sustain.
if you're sitting on a gain right now and asking whether to take some — take some
turned $3k into $40k in one cycle. gave it all back and then some. writing this two years later

DONT TRADE, you degenerate.
If all you ever did was stack sats, you’d have no regrets.
This happened to me about 8-9 years ago. I’ve been swing trading based on havling cycle since(i know this sub hates this practice lulz but securing profit is important for me).
Started with 3k and now my portfolio is 7 figures (all cash right now). Everyone needs to start somewhere, this is where your story starts. Good luck!
Lol trading. Stay humble, stack sats or be prepared to post this shit every other 3 years.
I had a 120k gain and I didn’t take it off the table, makes me quite sad
lol and if you are on a loss, you should sell now to limit your losses. Buy back after the price rose again. /s
Buy high and sell low. Never gets old!
