Just saw that my Walmart transaction from 3/27 got coded as…nothing. Flat 1% cashback. Reached out to an agent and he said to wait for my next statement to generate (on April 12th). Just wondering if anyone faced this before and if it gets resolved after your statement generates.

Walmart only works as 3% for me when I order online (I have Walmart plus so I usually order online and get it delivered)
To be clear OP, were you expecting it to code as U.S. Online Retail (via Walmart Pay) or as U.S. Supermarkets? Walmart isn’t considered a supermarket/groceries store by the overwhelming majority of credit cards. If this pertains to the online retail workaround via Walmart Pay then that helps to clarify
It is a pretty commonly covered topic that Walmart does not code as a grocery store/supermarket for cash-back purchases across a large variety of credit card issuers.
The only walmarts that give me 4% on my gold are the neighborhood ones. May be the same for your amex card
Only Walmart Neighborhood Market in-store purchases will trigger the 3%/6% grocery category on the the BCE/BCP, based on my experience with the BCP.
Pretty sure you’d have to make an online order at Walmart to trigger the 3% online on the BCE.
In other words, Walmart at 1% isn’t unexpected.
