They used to tell us “work hard and you’ll make it.” Now you’re grinding 50-60 hours a week, you have degrees, side hustles, and you’re still living with roommates or your parents at 30+ while barely making rent.Meanwhile you see people chilling on benefits, doing random gigs, or straight up doing nothing… and they seem to be doing just as good or even better because at least they’re not killing themselves for it.
Is the system completely broken, or is it just not worth busting your ass anymore for a paycheck that doesn’t even let you live?
I’m genuinely starting to wonder if I should keep grinding like a madman or just join the “minimum effort, maximum life” club and relax a bit.
What do you guys think? Keep killing myself at work or tap out?

It’s honestly easier to be poor in 2026 than to work your ass off and still get nowhere

🙂 What do you work ? MANY people have the same feeling.

What I don’t like is that more than ever job stability became almost 0.

If you stay too much (more than 2-3 years) in a company on the same position not only you cannot advance, but your fidelity is not appreciated anymore.

    2. Chilling on what benefits? How much can one make with benefits ? I’m sure it’s less than a normal 9-5.
