How do u determine price per oz on the un-drained weight to get an accurate $/oz????
If ya go by the listed price per container capacity for the chicken vs the tuna…the chicken is cheaper. We don’t add the liquid from either. Do we just weigh out each can drained to get an average then just divide per oz?
Its not recommended to eat so much tuna so I’m inclined to buy more canned chicken vs frozen chicken at .19/oz in the coming heat wave months for lots of variations of a chicken salad in different vessel. cold tacos, tostadas, tortas, sammiches etc I just want to make sure my brain is braining and the canned chicken is actually more frugal.

Go by serving.
do it by calories
tuna total cost/calories = $18.46/2400 = 0.007691…
chicken total cost/calories = $45.74/5760 = 0.0079409…
they cost almost exactly the same for the same nutrition.
