A year ago I was fresh out of grad school with $50,000 of credit card debt, undergrad loans, zero savings of any kind, and feeling pretty desperate. This community gave me the courage and wisdom to yolo my $4,000 emergency fund. Liberation day puts -> RIVN autonomy day calls -> Iran war puts -> $180,000 of profit over the past year. After taxes I now have savings, a Roth IRA, zero credit card debt, and $10k left to continue being a degenerate πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ§Έ.

Thank you to everyone who posts on here and makes this community so supportive and inspirational, and has let me learn from all your successes and mistakes. Best regards.

Rivian and puts. The weirdest way to make money in a market that has been incredibly easy for bulls until recently Good job

    2. Since I discovered this group I became a better husband and father and I feel closer to Jesus

Rivian puts being the glow up catalyst is peak WSB. Glad you’re doing better, just don’t let the next dopamine trade undo the real wins at home.

    4. Smart to put a core amount aside. A year ago today I’d literally lost everything and similarly yolo’ed a 2k check into stock world and grew it to 200k in 3 months. Broke most off for retirement/savings like you and still have some yolo money. Recently decided to start again with only 2k on the anniversary month of loosing everything to see what this next year might bring.

Great for you and good luck to both of us I suppose. πŸ˜‚

Congrats bro. I was completely broke 3 weeks ago even though I make 60k gross. I took out 2 crazy short term loans for 2800$ that I used to short the market and now I’ve paid both off and have about $7500 cash. Just 1k shy of paying off my maxed CC too and I’ll get paid next Friday from my job which will be plenty to clear the $8500. I celebrated this weekend with my fiance and splurged on some new cologne and stuff since I’d been such a broke degen for so long. Hope to continue this to pay off student loan as well.
