For decades US has been claiming iran is so close to developing nuclear weapons 'while' they were being regularly visited by iaeia and reports all said IRAN IS NOT developing nuclear weapons! This is like looking at the world through just US intelligence reporting and ignoring reporting on the ground and video evidence. Iran did not really have a navy or air force and the US estimates it may have gotten a third of the missile stocks but we have seen missile cities hit with bunker busters still firing. The ignorance here is astounding, the real military analysis is it will take 100000s of thousands to open the straight because you need to seize the coast and millions of troops to penetrate Iran to get deep enough and find its nuclear material. Taking an island just stops more oil going to the global market further hurting the US economy. So unless Trump is prepared for this war to go years as it will take 1 year just to get troops in real numbers to the gulf the US has lost. Taking an island is Trump looking for someway to claim a token victory and leave.
